Committees

The ministries of the Bethel United Church are carried out under the following committees:

WORSHIP
This committee organizes the necessary programmes (planning and training) to facilitate the congregation into true and dynamic worship services.

EVANGELISM
This committee organizes the evangelistic and outreach programmes of the church and spearheads the church's thrust towards growth.

VISITATION, MEMBERSHIP & PRAYER
It is the Lord Jesus who states that the church should "be called a house of prayer." This therefore means it is most important that prayer be a key a component of the church. The committee therefore organizes cell meetings in homes, vigils and fasting services in the church. The committee also organizes hospital and prison visits to compliment the regular pastoral visits to the homes of shut-ins and potential members.

BENEVOLENCE
The function of this committee is to plan for, organize and administer social programmes. These social programmes include financial and material assistance to the needy, which is done monthly; weekly hot meals, provided and distributed to the sick and shut-ins; clothing assistance to the needy; scholarships to needy students.

PROPERTY
This committee supervises the maintenance, security and development of the church's property.

HOSPITALITY
This committee ensures that the members and visitors alike are treated hospitably. This committee ensures that everybody who walks through the doors of the church is treated royally through the warmth of the ushers who welcomed, entertained and provide other hospitable gestures and services.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
This committee is mandated to facilitate the nurturing of all congregants of the church. This is expected to be done through all the auxiliary groups, such as the Women's Fellowship, Men's Fellowship, Youth Fellowship, Young Adults Movement and Children's Ministry.

The Sunday School also falls under the supervision of the Christian Education Committee.

FINANCE
The finances of the church are managed by this committee, which guides and executes the financial understandings of the church. This committee also supervises the budgetary and projection planning of the church and effect their administering.
